Planet Bamboo
in 2020
Planet Bamboo is a restoration project that reimagines an old building through the lens of sustainability, reuse, and natural materials. Rather than erasing the past, the project builds upon the existing structure, giving it new life by transforming bamboo into a central architectural element.
Recycled bamboo is used throughout the project, repurposed as structural, spatial, and expressive components.
By reusing bamboo materials, the project reduces waste while celebrating the beauty of imperfection, age, and renewal.
Each bamboo element tells a story of continuity—where old materials find new purpose.
A transparent roof crowns the restored building, allowing natural daylight to flood the interior and reducing reliance on artificial lighting.
The roof creates a bright, breathable space while strengthening the connection between the interior and the sky above. Together, bamboo and light shape an environment that feels open, honest, and alive.
Planet Bamboo stands as a quiet statement on sustainable restoration—where recycling, natural materials, and thoughtful design come together to turn an aging structure into a living space for the future.
